A PIONEER IN FASHION FILM CREATION IN SPAIN

Quimera, fashion film 2013

Perfidia, fashion film 2014
Raúl Rosillo’s fashion films stand among the earliest works that helped establish this format in Spain, consolidating it as an artistic and narrative language within the world of fashion.
Among his early pieces are Luz, created for the debut collection of Leandro Cano, and Quimera, developed for Beatriz Peñalver’s flamenco dress collection, among others. These works introduced a cinematic and emotional perspective at a pivotal moment in the evolution of the format, contributing to the expansion of fashion film as a creative medium.
His work has been showcased at some of the first fashion film festivals held in Spain and the United States, and has received international recognition, including the award for Best Art Direction at the Buenos Aires Fashion Film Festival.
These milestones reinforced his role in the consolidation of fashion film as a creative language and positioned his work within a broader context of artistic and cultural growth.
His practice has also been examined in academic and cultural contexts, where his contribution is recognised as that of one of the creators who helped define the foundations of fashion film in Spain, integrating aesthetics, emotion, and cinematic narrative into contemporary fashion.

Creativity with Limited Resources
“Mentioning Raúl Rosillo is to speak of art. This young artist leaves nothing to chance, yet embraces ‘the spontaneity of the moment.’ He controls everything: wardrobe, locations, props… but above all, the concept. An aspect the creator insists upon in each and every one of his series…”
